I grew up in South Africa, but these days I get to call South Haven, Michigan home. I’m married to my best friend, Lynette, and together we’re raising two incredible kids, Lyne and Yandre. They keep life interesting, keep me humble, and make sure things are rarely boring.

Outside of church, you’ll probably find me on a golf course, trying to stay healthy, spending time with my family, or finding an excuse to enjoy good food with good people. I genuinely believe life is one of God’s great gifts, and we should learn to enjoy it.

I’ve spent most of my adult life serving the local church, and I still believe deeply in it. Not because the church is perfect (it definitely isn’t), but because I’ve seen what God can do through ordinary, imperfect people who choose to follow Jesus together.

I love helping people discover that following Jesus is about far more than religion or showing up on Sunday. The gospel changes the way we see God, ourselves, other people, our work, our families, and the world around us.

That’s also shaped the kind of church I want to help build: a community that doesn’t exist for itself. A church where people can belong before they have everything figured out, where real relationships matter, where the gospel actually changes us, and where we take the love of Jesus beyond the walls of a building.

At the center of it all for me is pretty simple: Jesus is Lord.

I’m still learning what it means to live that out and I’m grateful I don’t have to do it alone.

Hi, my name is Christina! I am blessed to be the Administrative Assistant at Hope Church since December 1, 2014. Widowed in 2021, Kevin and I had three beautiful children together and an amazing daughter in-law. My son, Ian and his wife, Lulu, are living in Kansas City, MO. My daughter Liz lives in South Haven and Emily is a licensed cosmetologist at Harvey House in Paw Paw, MI. I also have an older daughter, Katie, and she has 4 children. Our family is further extended with three dogs that think they are human.

I truly love being able to come to work and talk about our Lord and Savior, without someone being offended. What a true freedom that is. It is an honor to be able to share in people’s struggles, joys, sadness and everyday life, and offering up prayers and hope. I am dedicated to Hope Church and to sharing our vision. I encourage everyone to get involved somehow, if you aren’t already. The blessings are enormous!

I love the Lord and continue to learn and grow in Him each day. When I have time, I am an avid reader. I love sewing, woodworking, and making crafts of all kinds. I also love to go metal detecting. If I have not met you, please stop in and say “hi”! God bless!

A native of Bloomingdale, I’m grateful to be serving the South Haven Community alongside my husband, Michael, and our daughter, Brynnleigh.

Life is a beautiful whirlwind right now as I navigate the joys of new motherhood and manage our family hobby farm of miniature horses and goats. I stay active through my love for fitness. Whether I’m out for a run, lifting weights, or cheering on my favorite college sports teams, I’m always on the move!

My background is in Exercise Science and Athletic Training, but recently, I’ve felt a clear calling from the Lord to step into Youth Ministry. I am passionate about meeting middle and high school students exactly where they are—walking beside them through the highs and lows of life and pointing them toward Jesus every step of the way.

I was born and raised in southern Ontario, Canada, and moved to Michigan to attend Calvin College (now Calvin University). I’ve been married to my husband Jason for over 18 years, and together we homeschool our two high schoolers, Jaden and Hannah.

I love working with children and see my role as creating spaces where kids and families encounter Jesus and experience His transforming power. My prayer is that our children’s ministry would always be Christ-centered—everything we do flowing from a desire to follow Christ and His teachings. I value a ministry that is accepting, welcoming every child and family as Christ modeled for us; loving, where all experience the love of Jesus; and engaging, where kids are encouraged to internalize God’s Word through meaningful and age-appropriate experiences.

Outside of church, Jason and I run a small market farm and spend our summers growing vegetables for the South Haven Farm Market. In the quieter winter months, I love quilting, crocheting, and reading.

I’m excited to continue walking alongside the children and families of Hope Church, trusting that God will use even the smallest seeds of faith to bring about big Kingdom growth!

 

Hi! I’m Allie!

I’ve lived in South Haven for the past 20 years with my husband and our growing family. We have worshiped at Hope church for all of that time, where I have been involved in leading worship and doing music in some capacity.

When I’m not leading worship at Hope, I am a third grade teacher at Maple Grove Elementary.
My husband, Mike, and I have 3 kids who all go to South Haven schools. I love to travel, read, bake, sing, and talk to people about Jesus.

I have been attending Hope Church since I was a child and I have lived in this area most of my life. I am grateful and excited to be able to serve the church and the greater South Haven community through worship.
I have been married to my husband, Jared, since 2013 and you will often see him serving alongside the worship team running the soundboard. We have two children, Eliza and Ezekiel.

Outside of church, you will find me teaching at Baseline Middle School or driving my kids to their various activities. I also enjoy exercising, reading, and going on adventures with my family.

Music has been a part of my life since I was young - taking piano lessons, playing trombone in the school band, being a part of the youth worship team, and leading worship at college and summer camp. I believe that music is a gift from God and a beautiful and powerful way to draw close to Him.

It is my prayer that through worship and community we will be reminded of the good and perfect gift we have in Jesus Christ and that there is nothing in this world that can satisfy like Him.

Hey there!  I’m Hayes. My wife Ashley, son Miles, and I have been members of Hope Church since 2025, and have called South Haven home since 2022.

I feel incredibly blessed to have the opportunity to share my faith and my love of music with others. Music has always been a pillar in my life, and growing up in a musical family, it is one of the ways I connect most deeply with people.  Leading worship has challenged me to dive deeper into my own faith as well. Worshiping at Hope Church feels like coming home every Sunday, and my hope is that others can experience that same sense of belonging and a deeper connection with God.

When I’m not leading worship, I work side by side with my wife, growing our family business here in South Haven. I love making music in my band, spending time on Lake Michigan, cooking (and eating), hunting, traveling, enjoying Michigan’s great outdoors, and—most importantly—spending as much time as possible with my family.
