What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us."
- A.W. Tozer

Every one of us is searching for something. We long for purpose, hope, forgiveness and a place to belong. We believe those longings ultimately lead us to God.
The Bible tells one unfolding story. From creation to new creation of a God who loves people enough to come looking for them. At the center of that story is Jesus Christ. Everything we believe, teach, and do points to Him. We don’t claim to have life figured out. We simply believe Jesus is who He said He is and that following Him changes everything.
There is one true God who has revealed Himself as Father and Son and Holy Spirit. He created and sustains all things and alone is worthy of our worship. He is holy, just, and good. Rich in mercy. Faithful to His promises. Unchanging in His character. He has never stopped pursuing people who have wandered from Him.
That pursuit reaches its fullest expression in Jesus Christ.
We believe Jesus is fully God and fully man. Conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, He lived the perfect life we could never live. Out of love for the world, He willingly gave His life on the cross, bearing the penalty for our sin. On the third day He rose from the dead, defeating sin and death forever. Today He reigns as Lord, intercedes for His people, and one day will return to make all things new.

The Bible is honest about why Jesus came. Every person is created in the image of God and therefore has immeasurable dignity and worth. Yet every one of us has chosen our own way instead of God’s. Sin has broken our relationship with God. Sin has broken our relationship with one another. Sin has broken our relationship with creation and even ourselves. Left to ourselves, we cannot repair what has been broken.

That is why the gospel is such good news. Salvation is not earned through good behavior or religious effort. Salvation is God’s gift of grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ alone. Everyone who trusts in Him is forgiven. Welcomed into God’s family. Given new life. Our greatest comfort, in life and in death, is that we are not our own but belong (body and soul) to our faithful Savior, Jesus Christ. He has fully paid for our sins, set us free from the power of sin and death, and promises never to leave or forsake His people.

Because we belong to Christ, God does more than forgive our past. He transforms our future. The Holy Spirit lives within every believer, helping us understand God’s truth, strengthening us to follow Jesus, and shaping us to become more like Him. The Christian life is not about trying harder but learning to walk with Jesus through the power of His Spirit.

God has not left us to discover these truths on our own. He has made Himself known through His Word. We believe the Bible is God’s inspired and trustworthy and authoritative Word. Through Scripture we discover who God is. Who we are. And His plan to redeem the world through Jesus Christ. It continues to guide our faith and shape our lives today.

Following Jesus was never meant to be a journey we take alone. God places us into His family called the church. A community of ordinary people being transformed by an extraordinary Savior. Together we worship and pray and learn and serve and encourage one another and grow as disciples of Jesus. The church is not simply a place to attend but a people sent into the world with the hope of the gospel. Jesus taught that loving our neighbor is second only to loving God, and that shapes everything we do. Whether serving our local community, caring for those in need, supporting global missions, or planting churches, we want people to experience the love and truth of Christ. Every follower of Jesus is called to live on mission wherever God has placed them.

As we follow Jesus, we trust His wisdom for every area of life. We believe God created humanity in His image and that His design for marriage and sexuality is good and beautiful and life-giving. Marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, marked by faithful and exclusive love. At the same time, we believe every person bears God’s image and deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect. We are committed to holding truth and grace together as we seek to reflect the heart of Jesus.

Our story does not end with the world as it is today. We believe Jesus Christ will return to judge the living and the dead, make all things new, and establish His kingdom forever. Sin and suffering and injustice and even death will finally be defeated. Until then, we live with hope, confident that history is moving toward the day when Christ will reign over all things.

Until that day, we want to be a church where people encounter Jesus, grow in faith, discover the joy of belonging to God’s family, and join Him in bringing hope to the world.
