How it all started...
Did you know that in the Bible, a generation is often described as 40 years? With that in mind, after 150 years of faithful ministry, Hope Church South Haven is now in its fourth generation!
There’s something special about our story: the very same year the first lighthouse was built in South Haven, our church began its ministry. We think it’s no coincidence. Both the lighthouse and Hope Church were created to shine a light—one guiding ships safely to shore, the other offering hope and guidance to our community.
While both the original lighthouse and our first church building have been replaced over the years, their purpose remains the same. Today, both continue to shine brightly, providing light and hope for everyone in South Haven.
Matthew 5:14 says, "You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden."

Our hope for Hope Church is simple: we want this to be a place where you and your family can connect with God in new and meaningful ways. We want you to find real friends here—people you can share life with and trust.
But we don’t want to stop there. Together, we want to learn what matters most to God, especially His deep love for people who are hurting or looking for hope. We are ready to step out bravely, even when it feels hard, to help others and show God’s love and kindness to those who need it most.

At Hope Church, you are welcome just as you are, no matter your story or what your life looks like right now. Whether you are married, divorced, widowed, have many kids or none, you belong here. If you are facing struggles, questions, or doubts—even about faith itself—there is a place for you. We want Hope Church to be a community where you truly BELONG. Here, you can connect with God, experience His love and kindness, and build real friendships. No matter where you are on your journey, you are always welcome here.
Space 2
At Hope Church, we believe this is a place where your life can change for the better. Here, you and your family can GROW in your faith and become the best you can be as you follow Jesus. We want to help everyone learn more about God and live out their faith every day. That’s why we offer Sunday school, small groups, and special classes—so you can keep learning and growing, no matter where you are on your faith journey. There is always a place for you to take your next step with us.

At Hope Church, we believe everyone—whether you are single or have a family—can make a real difference. We want to be a church that REACHES out to help both our neighbors and people around the world. That’s why we offer ways for you to get involved, like mission trips, helping in the community, or joining prayer events. Together, we can share God’s love in real and practical ways, making a positive difference wherever we go.
But we don’t want to stop there. Together, we want to learn what matters most to God, especially His deep love for people who are hurting or looking for hope. We are ready to step out bravely, even when it feels hard, to help others and show God’s love and kindness to those who need it most.
