How it all started...
Did you know that in the Bible, a generation is often described as 40 years? With that in mind, after 150 years of faithful ministry, Hope Church South Haven is now in its fourth generation!
There’s something special about our story: the very same year the first lighthouse was built in South Haven, our church began its ministry. We think it’s no coincidence. Both the lighthouse and Hope Church were created to shine a light—one guiding ships safely to shore, the other offering hope and guidance to our community.
While both the original lighthouse and our first church building have been replaced over the years, their purpose remains the same. Today, both continue to shine brightly, providing light and hope for everyone in South Haven.
Matthew 5:14 says, "You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden."
We are a light and hope for South Haven, and we have been for a 150 years.

Our dream for Hope Church is simple: we want to be a place where individuals and families can connect with God in fresh, meaningful, and creative ways. We hope you’ll find real, authentic relationships here—people you can truly share life with.
But it doesn’t stop there. We want to discover together what matters most to God, especially His deep love for a world that’s hurting and searching for hope. And we’re committed to stepping out bravely—even when it’s uncomfortable—to be God’s hands and feet, bringing love and light to those who need it most.

Space 1
At Hope Church, you’re invited to come just as you are—no matter your story or what life looks like right now. Whether you’re married, divorced, widowed, have a house full of kids or none at all, you are welcome here. If you’re struggling with sin, addiction, questions, or even religion itself, there’s a place for you.
We want Hope Church to be a community where you truly BELONG. Here, you can connect with the living God, experience His unconditional love and amazing grace, and build real, meaningful relationships. No matter where you are on your journey, you’re welcome here.
Space 2
At Hope Church, we believe this is a place where lives can be transformed. Here, individuals and families can GROW in their faith and become the best versions of themselves as they follow Jesus.
We’re committed to raising the bar when it comes to discipleship—both in what we learn and how we live it out every day. That’s why we’re always working to improve our education and discipleship opportunities through Sunday school, small groups, and special courses. No matter where you are on your faith journey, there’s a place for you to learn, grow, and take the next step with us.

At Hope Church, we believe everyone—individuals and families alike—can make a real difference. We want to be a faith community that REACHES out, both to our local neighborhood and to the world beyond.
That’s why we create opportunities for you to get involved, whether it’s through mission trips, community service projects, or prayer events. Together, we can share God’s love in practical ways and make a positive impact wherever we go.
But it doesn’t stop there. We want to discover together what matters most to God, especially His deep love for a world that’s hurting and searching for hope.
